Associate Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, both for graduate and post-graduate levels. He received his Professional Degree in Architecture and Urban Design at UFSC (1997), a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning at UFRGS (2001) and a Doctor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at UFSC (2007). In 2020, he was a visiting researcher at Oxford Brookes University. He was the Director of Graduate Studies in Architecture and Urbanism at UFSC from 2016 to 2018 and is currently a CNPq Research Fellow – grant level 2. His main research areas include urban and architectural morphology and configuration, diversity, segregation, and healthy ageing. Other interests are epistemological and methodological aspects of the scientific endeavour, particularly construct validity and measurement in the social sciences.
